Resilient channels provide exceptional noise reduction in wood-framed multi-family properties and other buildings. Fitted between the plasterboard and the studs or joists, they separate the two to reduce sound moving between rooms. The basic construction of resilient channels gives buildings a positive change of 3 to 5 decibels in their Sound Transmission Class rating, enhancing sound isolation.
Resilient channels are inexpensive and lightweight, which simplifies installation, and they are easy to cut to fit different areas. Their slotted holes also help reduce the “flanking” noise that traditional soundproofing methods often cannot stop.
Combining affordability with quick installation, resilient channels are a budget-friendly, efficient way to improve acoustics in residential and commercial spaces.
